The Bachelor of Science in Economics offered online by the W. P. Carey School of Business provides students the opportunity to combine the expansive business curriculum required for all W. P. Carey degrees with a strong and stimulating core of economic theory and statistical methods. Students supplement business and economic theory courses with department electives that include financial, international, and labor market applications.
The B.S. in Economics offered by the W. P. Carey School of Business pairs economics coursework with an expansive business curriculum that includes a solid foundation in accounting, finance, management, marketing, supply chain management and data analytics. This rigorous combination of business and economics provides students with critical and analytical skills that prepare them for a wide range of careers in the private sector including business intelligence, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance.
Freshman applicants who meet the requirements for ASU freshman admission and also meet one of the following criteria may be directly admitted to a W. P. Carey School of Business Bachelor of Science degree program:
– An SAT Reasoning score of 1230* (taken March 2016 and after)
– An SAT Reasoning score of 1160* (taken prior to March 2016)
– An ACT composite score of 25*
– A high school class ranking in the top 8 percent
– An overall, unweighted high school GPA of 3.6 in competency courses defined by ASU (4.0 = A)
*ASU and W. P. Carey do not require the writing portion of these tests.
Transfer applicants who meet the ASU transfer student admission requirements and also meet one of the following criteria may be directly admitted to a W. P. Carey School of Business Bachelor of Science degree program:
– An SAT Reasoning score of 1230* (taken March 2016 and after)
– An SAT Reasoning score of 1160* (taken prior to March 2016)
– An ACT composite score of 25*
– A high school class ranking in the top 8 percent
– An overall, unweighted high school GPA of 3.6 in competency courses defined by ASU (4.0 = A)
In addition, you must have a 3.0 cumulative ASU GPA (if you have attended ASU) and a 3.0 cumulative transfer GPA (if you have attended another institution).
Note: Special consideration will be given to students not meeting the above requirement who have not taken university level course work within the past five years.
